PERMANENT RESIDENCE PERMIT VALIDITY

 

As you are aware, permanent residents must visit Panama at least every two years to maintain their permanent residency. However, during the pandemic, the Panamanian government extended the validity of residence permits which expired on March 13th, 2020, to June 30th, 2021. 

 

We would like to inform you that this was the final extension granted by the government; therefore, if you are not able to return to Panama before June 30th, 2021, please contact us to provide you with recommendations according to your situation.

Panama creates Short Stay Visa for Remote Workers
 

Aiming to become a popular destination with digital nomads and professionals working remotely, Panama has launched its Short Stay Visa for Remote Workers.

 

This new visa allows foreign nationals employed by companies operating outside of Panama or who are self-employed, to live and work remotely from Panama for nine months with a one-time extension of nine additional months.
